Privacy policy
This page explains in plain language what we collect when you use this site, what we deliberately do not collect, and how to reach a real person if you want your information changed or deleted.

Who we are — and what we are not
International School Index is an independent directory of international schools in Thailand. We gather fees and school details from what each school publishes itself, and we show the date we last checked. The site is run privately from Thailand.
- We are not an agent, representative or spokesperson for any school.
- We are not an admissions agency. We do not process applications, enrolment or payments.
- We are not a school and we hold no student records of any kind.
What we collect
There is no account and no login on this site. We only receive personal information when you choose to fill in one of the three forms below.
Form 1 — asking a school a question (on a school page)
- Your name
- One way to contact you: LINE ID, phone number or email — you choose which
- The grade level you are asking about (optional)
- A budget range per year (optional)
- Your message (optional)
- Which school page you sent it from, and the date and time
This is stored only after you tick the consent box. If the box is not ticked, nothing at all is saved from that submission.
Form 2 — reporting incorrect information (on a school page)
- The item you say is wrong, and what it should say
- A contact for follow-up — optional, and you can leave it blank
- Which school page the report is about, and the date and time
We use this to re-check the data against the school’s own published source. Leave the contact blank and there is nothing in the record that identifies you.
Form 3 — the school finder questionnaire
- The grade levels you are interested in
- A district you are interested in (optional)
- A budget range per year
- Curricula you are interested in (optional)
- What matters most to you, up to three (optional)
- When you are thinking of starting
- Your name and one contact detail — only if you tick the consent box
Your answers are what produce your results page. Contact details are saved only when you tick the box; leave it unticked and you still get your results, with the contact fields stored empty.
Technical information
- Your IP address is held briefly in the server’s memory to limit how many times the same visitor can send a form (spam protection). Our code does not write it into the database next to your answers.
- Fonts, styles and scripts are served from our own server. There is no analytics service, no advertising network and no social media tracker anywhere on this site.
- Pages that show a map load the map tiles directly from OpenStreetMap, so openstreetmap.org can see your IP address while a map is on screen. We send them nothing else.
We do not collect information about your child
Parents are the people who use this site, so the forms were built so that no individual child is ever described in our records. They ask which grade level interests you — a group-level answer that identifies no one.
- We never ask for a child’s name.
- We never ask for a child’s date of birth.
- We never ask for, and cannot receive, photographs of children — no form on this site accepts a file or an image.
- We never ask for school reports, exam results, or medical, behavioural or special-needs information.
One thing we should name plainly: the fee calculator and the school filters ask for an age, because fees in Thailand are quoted by age band. That number only decides which figures the page shows you. It appears in the web address of the page, it is never saved in our database, and it is never attached to a name or a contact.
Who we pass it on to
- A question from Form 1 goes to the single school whose page you sent it from, and to no one else. A person reads it in our password-protected admin area and passes it on by hand — there is no automatic link between this site and any school’s systems.
- A correction from Form 2 stays with us. We may repeat the correction itself to the school while checking it, but not your contact details.
- Answers and contact details from Form 3 are not given to any school. The contact detail is used only so that a person on our team can send you your own results summary by hand, from the same admin area — this site has no mailing or messaging system of its own and sends nothing automatically.
We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not add you to any marketing list, advertising audience or data broker.
The site runs on rented server space in a commercial data centre, so the hosting provider necessarily holds the files that store this data. Apart from the map tiles described above, no other outside company receives any of it.
How long we keep it, and who can see it
What you send is stored in a single database file on our server. It can be read only through a password-protected admin area that the site operator opens. No other visitor can see it and there is no public page anywhere that lists it.
To be straight with you: there is no automatic deletion in place today. What you send stays until you ask us to delete it, or until we no longer need it and remove it by hand. If you want your record gone, email us and we will delete it.
Your school finder results page has a long random address of its own. Anyone holding that link can open it, so treat it as private. It shows only your answers — never your name or contact details.
Cookies
This site sets exactly one cookie, isi_market. It remembers which language version you chose so you are not sent back to English on every visit. It lasts one year and holds nothing but a language tag such as "th-th".
There are no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels and no analytics cookies here. Nothing on this site follows you to other websites.
Your rights
Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) gives you rights over information about you. In practice, you can ask us to:
- Show you what we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete it
- Withdraw a consent you gave earlier — for example, tell us to stop passing your question to a school
- Stop using it while we look into a complaint
Email soon.thaithaworn@gmail.com, ideally from the address or with the contact detail you used in the form, and tell us roughly when you sent it so we can find the right record. There is no charge, and the reply comes from the person who runs the site.
